I am visiting Newport News from Florida. This was my and my friends first time at Sorabol. We were greeted and seated right away. The food was excellent. We ordered fried Mandu, Spicy Chicken Stir Fry, and Yookgae Jang, I asked for the soup to be extra spicy and it was on point too. Our server, unfortunately I did not get her name, is a friendly Korean lady. She made sure we had plenty of drinks and kimchi and other pickled side dishes. She also recommended a Soju wine called...
I ordered the kimbap and naengmyeon, the portions were huge! The meal also came with a side soup and banchan which I wasn't expecting. The buckwheat noodles were chilled and spicy, super chewy and very filling, highly recommend if you are looking for a dish thats outside the norm
I grew up in the area and moved out west, and this is the one restaurant I dream about. The short rib soup with cabbage leaves is just as good as it was ten years ago when i first got it.
