Honest review from a native New Yorker: this place totally hits the spot. Benny Damato’s keeps it simple in the best way possible. You get that huge, thin, crispy slice that actually folds without flopping everywhere, with a sauce and cheese ratio that just works. No weird gimmicks or over-the-top fluff—just really good, straightforward pizza done right. Easily a new favorite in Norfolk.
A quick walk from the waterside district leads to a pizzeria where pizzas are served swiftly. The prices are quite reasonable, making it an affordable option. I particularly like the thin and crispy crust, which adds to the overall appeal of the pizza.
I’d honestly give it a 3.5. It’s okay. The dough and sauce are great but the cheese is my least favorite part. It’s some weird mixture of cheese and it just ruins the pizza. Price is good though. (If you like the cheese)
