Great food, the steak and salmon were cooked to perfection. The steak melted in your mouth. The staff was timely and friendly without being overbearing. Drinks were never empty. It was a Friday night and the restaurant was relatively full but still had a personal , intimate feeling. Great setting in an old church.
My wife and I had our first visit to the Freemason Abbey Restaurant tonight, and it exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is incredible, with a historic charm that really captures the character of Norfolk. Our server, Carl, was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely personable. One thing that really stood out was that we never had to ask for drink refills. It seems like such a small thing, but it makes a huge difference and is something many restaurants...
Very cool to have a nice dinner in a historical cathedral. The food was of great quality. Ordered the Smoked Gouda Tenderloin Penne and the Rock Salt Roasted Prime Rib. Both entrees were perfect and our waitress was very personable and nice. The over all experience was worth the visit. Will say for a dinner for 2 our total was $112 with tax so a little spendy but worth it.
