They are always great but this day i went and they were closed to feed the homeless. They are the most generous restaraunt i have ever been to. They fed the vets on veterans day. This place makes my heart happy

Very very good mid western style bbq. Pork, chicken, so tasty. Sides are good not great. Bit expensive as the place we visited was $10.00 just for a quarter of a pint of Q, and sides were around $3.50 each. We went multiple times because the pork Q is very very good, just don't expect to come out of there with a thick wallet.

My daughter and I's first time eating at Mission BBQ. We are from the Raleigh, NC area and were attending a camp at VWU when we saw the smoke rolling. As an avid meat smoker, it is hard to pass up a chance to try some new BBQ.
We walked in at 11:55am. The decor caught me by surprise and the service from the staff was top notch right from the start. We were at our table waiting for our name to be called when the National Anthem started playing. I have to say, that was the first time I have gotten goosebumps at a restaurant. 30+ people standing up, hands on heart. My wife and I are both Army Veterans. The gesture of playing the anthem at noon every day was a nice surprise.
My brisket sandwich was amazing. My sides were amazing as well. We aren't in the area very often, maybe once a year, but we now have our lunch spot figured out for when we are!

The food is good but all the sides have a bit more spice than we care for. A bit pricey also since it's almost $5 to add drink and 1 side. I like the fact they play the national anthem at noon....very patriotic!
