Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant is a lively, kid-friendly spot great for groups, with reasonable prices and excellent service with a smile. The best chicken soup is made to order, loaded with huge chicken chunks and vegetables, well seasoned with a huge portion. The fish tacos are the best, and the birria tacos reminded one guest of oxtail with a tortilla and cheese with a hint of lime and cilantro. The spinach enchiladas and chicken tenders and fries are also available. The menu has a huge variety to pick from. For drinks, the margarita is big and delicious, with good and cold draft beers. The guacamole is prepared in front of you. Service is top notch, with quick food and drink even at busy times, and refills topped off. However, one guest noted the Beef Nacho Supreme had beef that tasted like it came out of a can, with a dog food consistency, flavorless and not pleasing to the palette. Overall, this location checks all the boxes and is considered the best Mexican restaurant in Norfolk.
