“Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience today. Normally I used the drive thru and it is more like the twilight zone. People are usually not engaged and unpleasant, almost like they're doing you a favor. But not tonight. The young lady manning the front acknowledged my presence and told she'd be right with me. Kudos to her, she speaking my language. She located my mobile order and take care of me while taking care of the drive thru. There were only a few people in the store and it appeared clean for the most part. Not something I'd eat frequently because I'm conscious about eating healthy, but it was pleasant.”

“We went to the Mineral Wells Cracker Barrel for dinner. Our server was Trenton. He done an excellent job 10/10. It was pretty busy but he didn't miss a beat. I had the country fried steak mashed potatoes and a salad. It was delicious. The mashed potatoes were a little off but good. 9/10. My husband got the rainbow trout baked potato and broccoli 10/10. Over all the place was very clean. Keep up the good work.”

“I love everything about this place. It starts with the lovely building with the beautiful front door. Inside the ambiance is lovely, lovely furniture and decorations. Mexican music is playing at just the right sound level. The staff are always friendly and the prices more than fair. Everything is always so clean even the bathrooms. The food is plentiful and delicious every time. My test for a Mexican restaurant is usually Carnitas. Most places make them dry. Every time I have ordered them here they have been delicious moist and juicy!! Absolutely our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area.”

“Had a really great experience at Captain D’s today thanks to an outstanding manager. I came in a bit frustrated because a 1-piece fish meal deal showed on the app but wasn’t available in-store. Even during a busy lunch rush, she took the time to kindly explain that it was an app-exclusive offer and suggested the 2-piece meal as a better value.

Despite how slammed they were, she stayed calm, professional, and genuinely helpful the entire time. That kind of customer service doesn’t go unnoticed. Huge appreciation to her and the team for handling everything with patience and kindness!”

“Can't beat it for the money,been going here since I was little with my Dad and now I take my kids...It's been here for years for a reason, it's a known and loved landmark in Parkersburg...Simple sells, and it's cheap! Many years ago it hosted plate dinners for workers in the area but now it's just your basic hamburger and hotdog shop. Edit: it’s been 10 yrs since my last review. The prices have gone up dramatically, they take debit now, which is sad. Always appreciated the cash only. I don’t mind a little updating but I was there the day they took out the juke box, sad, now they continue redo the inside and clearly trying to add new stuff. They should’ve left it the way it was. I rarely ever go now because of their prices and the changes have taken some of the nostalgia away. Sad to say, but if the prices don’t go back to what they were pre C19, then I give this place 2 maybe 3 years to survive with these higher prices. It’s not worth it at those prices, and the nostalgia is rapidly disappearing. I’m not here to argue about it. It’s just my opinion. This place was a staple for me and my kids… so it’s sad for me to anticipate its demise. Even their service hours are jacked up now. And they’re serving nacho cheese….. if I say I want cheese on my hotdog, I want it the way it’s been made for my 42 yrs on this earth, with sliced cheese. Do I make it that way at home, no. But that’s ALWAYS how it was at Slop Shop. I don’t want asked if I want nacho cheese. Why do you all feel the need to have nacho cheese??? STOP changing things. Stop trying to “update” or whatever you think you’re doing. You are ruining it. And it makes so many of us terribly sad and disappointed.”

“My favorite place to eat after church on Sundays! Love love love the staff, all of them are really nice people.
Going here genuinely feels like your aunt owns a pizza place and you are going in to eat and chit chat. Can not recommend it enough. Not to mention they have the best pizza. Hands down. No where else can compete with the sauce the crust or with the perfect amount of cheese they cover it with.
Please don't ever change the decor. It really takes me back to heading to town with my mom for lunch after working in the hay fields. ❤️”

“Stopped here on the way back from Florida with my mom in tow. She'd been losing weight and hadn't had much of an appetite since having COVID. She had no idea what to get just wanted something with guacamole. Ordered her the steak and fries with extra guacamole. She loved it. Couldn't stop raving about it and ate every bit. Kid at the counter was helpful and polite. Food came out nice and warm and quick.”

Vegetarian options: There are a limited number of items tar are avalanche for vegetarians - the impossible whopper is pretty good.

Dietary restrictions: I have celiac and can manipulate most of the Burger sandwiches to where I can eat them. Not necessarily good if super sensitive to cross contamination

Parking: It's shared with a gas station.

Kid-friendliness: This Burger King has a kids menu but not a play space

Wheelchair accessibility: Individuals in a wheelchair would need assistance getting in and out but would be able to maneuver once inside”
