good food and service. first time here. I plan on coming back again.
Food arrive cold. Whip cream on pies old and starting to curdle. Pasta extremely dry with practically no sauce, donuts had no flavor just cooking oil. Extremely disappointed. Used to live ordering from here. But quality has been slipping for a while
Had the meatloaf, my god it had to have been 2lbs of hamburger meat. Had I been warned how much was on the plate, I would have ordered something else.

Founding Farmers Reston Station provides a casual and welcoming dining environment. The food presentation and flavors are well-liked, with the skillet cornbread and glazed salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans receiving praise. The service has been described as both "let down" and "wonderful," but the waitstaff generally offers attentive service. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the meals are enjoyable, although the overall experience can vary.
Recent reviews highlight the restaurant’s fresh, plentiful food and high-quality ingredients sourced from American family farms. Customers have enjoyed dishes like the Hot Crab & Artichoke Dip and Handmade Old Bay Crab Ravioli, which is perfectly seasoned with lemon butter sauce and balsamic glaze, and packed with real crab meat. The restaurant’s emphasis on scratch-made food and drinks adds to its appeal. Starters such as Devil-ish Eggs and Coupla' Buttermilk Biscuits with seasonal house jam are popular, while the dinner menu features items like BBQ Pork Ribs, shrimp & grits with Andouille, bacon, and tomato, and the noted ravioli.
The drinks menu includes favorites like Paloma made with Founding Spirits Blanco Tequila, grapefruit, lime, and agave, as well as Bubbly — The Prisoner Unshackled Brut. Many customers appreciate the flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented dishes that reflect the restaurant’s farm-to-table approach.
While the service is generally appreciated, some reviews mention inconsistent experiences. For dessert, Crembrule Cheesecake is very good, often shared among groups. However, some dishes like the Spatcoch Chicken have been described as tasteless, and the cheesy grits can be overwhelmingly cheesy, showing that experiences may vary. Overall, the restaurant is known for its well-crafted dishes, fresh ingredients, and the farm-owned background that emphasizes quality and flavor in every bite.
