We very much enjoyed our lunch and our waiter was terrific. Unfortunately we learned they are closing in 5 days. A new seafood place is supposed to be opening next summer.

My daughter and I are vegan but taking dad out for his birthday. He got 3 dishes, scallops, shrimp and fried oysters. He absolutely loved every bite. He said sauces were amazing and the grits with scallops were perfect and flavorful. Said he hadn't had a meal this good in a long time. My daughter and I had a vegan burger which was delicious and you could had a few extras like sautéed onions. And of course sweet potato tots! Drinks were good and strong. No skimping. Our waitress was lovely. We will make this one of our frequent visits.

Pros: Plenty of outdoor seating. This is a huge plus during COVID. There is also a lovely view of the river. Another plus is that they have their own parking lot, which is nice since parking in Richmond can be tough sometimes. Lastly, we came in with a VERY large group and the staff was nothing but wonderful and accommodating. High points for a friendly staff! Cons: You must be wondering: why only three stars? Really it comes down to the food. The food was not very tasty. So, is this a good place to come with a group? Yes. Is the staff nice? Absolutely. Is there a good view? For sure. But don't come for the food. Maybe come with some friends at night for a pretty view of the river and stick to cocktails.

We stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere with a view of the river. I honestly expected decent drinks and subpar food but was very pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. We had conch hush puppies, she crab soup and quesadilla with chicken. Everything came out fresh and hot.
Went to the Boathouse next door expecting to get a table for brunch without a reservation. Unfortunately there was no room in a reasonable amount of time. We decided to go to the Conch Republic instead. We got the scallops, grits and egg special. We paired this with a carafe of mimosas. Perfect!!

We were surprised at how much we enjoyed this place and ended up coming back with friends a few days later. The drinks and view are good, but the food is even better. The fries have a very crunchy outside with a soft inside reminiscent of a potato wedge. We all ordered different things and everyone was happy with their selection.It is also worth noting that the restaurant seemed well staffed and the service was great. That's not something that a lot of places can say right now so we were happy that both trips featured quick and friendly service even though it was different people working. We look forward to coming back!

General rundown: Warm welcome upon arrival, Parking was a bear but that isn't the restaurant"s fault. Seated promptly and we were brought waters right off the bat! Our drink selections were taken right away, I ordered the sweet tea which did something awful to my stomach. I alerted our server and asked him not to bring me another and he also said they would make a fresh batch. After some more water, my stomach calmed down.Here is when it gets bumpy. Our server, Mathew I believe, came back to take our appetizer order. After we ordered our pretzel and beer cheese, which was stellar, we received it in about 25 minutes which is a little long in my opinion for a pretzel but I can get over it, busy night I suppose.Here is where it gets bad. After we had long finished our appetizer, about 30 minutes after it's arrival, Mathew came back to take our entree order. We did not see our entrees until nearly an hour later. It was simply too long (not the server's fault). I work in the service industry and I understand that things happen, a chef gets hurt and has to leave, a server drops a tray, life happens but 55 minutes for an order of tacos and a cuban sandwich (both of which were very good) seems like quite a bit. Not to mention, not a single water refill during that time in 85 degree heat, sitting outside. Again, things happen but there surely was an opportunity within 55 minutes to bring over a pitcher of water.The food is amazing, do not get me wrong. The portions are perfect, the view makes for an amazing night out and the general ambiance is sensationally pleasant but do not plan to come here if you do not have a few hours to blow threw. Food was great, company was even better but service and coursing could use some work.The Good:The food is phenomenalThe atmosphere / view is impeccableThe restaurant was CLEAN! This is getting increasing hard to find.The Bad:The wait time is very long if you do not arrive early, as they don't take reservations.The time from order to food on the table is obnoxious.The parking is a pain.Overall, I would come back but not on a Tuesday night, when I have work the next day.

Took my brother and his girlfriend a few weeks ago. I suggested it for fathers day so my son brought me here. Food is always good, great atmosphere, staff always friendly and polite.
