Great scenery and relaxing atmosphere with excellent service

Excellent lunch! We had an early lunch, and enjoyed the gorgeous views of the river, on a glorious June day. I'd have had a good time just watching the river, but the food made it outstanding. I started with a no-alcohol Cucumber mint fizz. Delicious! Too often NA drinks taste like sodas - this one didn't! It was fresh, tangy, minty and refreshing. I had a sip of my friend's Painkiller (definitely alcoholic!) and if I hadn't been driving, I'd have gotten one myself and enjoyed every drop! I had steamed shrimp taco (requested off-menu) and my friend had fried shrimp taco. Both were amazing! The shrimp was perfect, and the tangy sauce and creative pico de gallo was perfect with the shrimp! 3 tacos were plenty, and I would have been completely satisfied - but we decided to get dessert! We ordered the portuguese doughnuts (sorry, I can't recall their name) and unfortunately, after waiting a while, were told that they weren't yet available. Darn. We had the Churros instead - and were NOT disappointed! Not your regular boring churro! Filled with hazelnut cream down the middle and dipped in sugar, served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream drizzled with chocolate sauce - they are delicious! We shared it, which was a good thing - it was quite sweet and half of it was plenty!
Our server, LJ, was a doll! Cheerful, friendly, smiling at everyone, attentive but not hovering, making conversation at the right time - he was busy, but not too busy to take care of each patron.
I would happily return to Island Shrimp, and hope to soon!
