Used to frequent this spot a few times a year, but our last two visits have been memorably bad. Service is always great, but the food has taken a dramatic turn in a bad direction. Hopefully they can turn this around because it used to be very good.
Did take out for dinner tonight. Their Burrito Del Mar was awesome... tasty and plentiful, enough for two. The shrimp and bacon were so tender and seasoned to perfection. Pepes will be added to our go-to restaurant list.
When the bottom of your plates is on top of the food for others in your party is a bad start. The food is ok at best. The chili relleno is not good, a soggy corn shell wrapping a chili pepper with no filling defeats the whole point of a relleno. We left 2 meals mostly untouched and the staff was oblivious that there was an issue. Above four stars rating was miss leading. Bathrooms are nasty to make matters worse. Don’t go here, overrated.
