This is one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat. Very authentic, delicious, and the staff are wonderful. There may be a wait, as it's popularity speaks for itself, but the service is very speedy.
Average food and prices although beans were salty. They run out of tamales and even though their is a grocery store in the same plaza to buy fruit and milk they mentioned they are out of of both strawberry and banana licuados. Also the can of sodas are not refrigerated but they do offer you a a glass of ice. Chile relleno with rice beans and tortillas for almost 14 bucks should include 2 chiles realistically not just one.
The pupusas were delicious! We ordered three different kinds: queso, frijoles, and revuelta. They were all well seasoned and the cabbage slaw (curtido) was just right. We were so full for a very reasonable price. Pupuseria Mercedes is a little gem and well worth the visit.
