The map say they close 1 am but they close before that

The food is alright. It's a good late night spot and they have some amazing curly fries. However the specials come with boardwalk fries (so be wary of that). I usually get the chicken shawarma but it's not always up to you. If you come in when they aren't busy you'll take what they have or go somewhere else. I've been times where the food is incredibly dry (meat has been sitting out) and I've been other times when it's great (late night so they're constantly making more). Sometimes they honor the specials in the windows and other times its ended the day before (supposedly). Shawarma shack is right next to Christians though and there's usually not a line. So if you're willing to accept some subpar service and want to satisfy those munchies give shawarma shack a shot.

*THEY DO NOT TAKE RAW CHICKEN SERIOUSLY*

Food is awful. Beef shawarma meat is like jerky, chicken shawarma meat was definitely sitting in a food warmer for some time and had honey mustard in it. babaganoush had way too much tahini, It literally tasted like I was eating tahini (without any seasoning or preparation) Pita was stale, not toasted or anything, very chewy. Baklava was okay... definitely not homemade. On top of that, they charge $2.25 per piece which is pretty high considering it contained about less then a teaspoon of nuts and was about 1x1 inches. I hate saying this because people take it the wrong way, but the women answering phone spoke little English which is not a problem for me because English is not my first language but it may be a problem for some people understanding or getting accurate orders or answers to questions. The staff is polite and nice, but unfortunately I had to throw out my food because it was inedible $50 bucks wasted. This is my second time eating here and first time was just as bad.. Just thought I would give it a second chance because I love Lebanese cuisine and was hoping for my second experience to be different. Sorry Shawarma shack, But what we put in our bodies is so important, and cutting corners, and being inconsistent doesn't pay off in the long run. It's also upsetting, especially for people who have never eaten Lebanese food because after eating here they will likely blame the overall cuisine.. There are plenty of restaurants in Richmond that put quality and hard work into what they do, and they do it well. so support restaurants who do it right is my opinion

Serves undercooked chicken and would not refund me. Reported to health department. Do not eat here. Mike was extremely rude and accused me of fabricating the facts.

We stopped by here driving north to DC. Looking to support a local restaurant. Ordered chicken Shawarma us and was told it would take 30 minutes. Waited for 30+ minutes and when we got back on the highway and noticed that the chicken was completely pink on the inside. I'm not going to feed my family chicken that has uncooked pieces intermixed within it. I Tried to resolve it before yelp by calling the restaurant. Spoke to Mike, who told me to bring the food back and it should be cooked, sometimes cooked chicken looks pink. And he would not refund me. THEY TOLD ME TO PICK OUT THE UNCOOKED CHICKEN, AND DIG THROUGH ALL 4 SANDWICHES. I told him I'm in the health care field and raw chicken can be deadly. This is Ridiculous, I felt obligated to write this review because this establishment did not take raw chicken seriously. I've already wasted an hour with this place and $40, I suggest you don't waste any of your own time. DO NOT EAT HERE AT THE RISK OF SALMONELLA POISONING. Enjoy my stolen $40 Mike, and all the trouble that comes with it.

Love this place , BUT I will be honest and say it has changed over time. I started going around the time it first opened up . Around this time you could get the freshest , moist , delicious shawarma you've ever had . Nowadays the meats dry and when the meats dry in a Shawarma sandwich it completely takes away from how good the entire wrap is. None the less I love Shawarma and other than the home made ones I get from my friends Aunt , this is second best ive found in VA (First being my friends Aunts Shawarma)

This place is awesome for lunch. Great prices, service is wonerful, the food is high quality. Overall not sure why the reviews are not better. Absolutely love this spot, was here when amazon was taking restaurant pictures. Exciting, innovative, & delicious.

A couple of us had a take out order. The beef shawarma sandwich wasn't very good at all. The spicy chicken shawarma wasn't good, the meat was really dry and it didn't taste good. The stuffed grape leaves tasted okay, but didn't look full or appetizing. There was a weird gelatinous like liquid at the bottom. Not what I was expecting at all.

This place is pretty quaint. When I went there was only one worker there so it took awhile for my food to be made. I was there when students aren't here so maybe that had something to do with it.....food was pretty good tho, worth the wait.

We ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich. The taste is similar to the real thing. The chicken is well cooked but the bread was a little dry. Overall this place is really close to VCU which makes it the best option for a Lebanese cuisine without having to drive. The staff were helpful and polite and the order came out fast. Price is not a lot in comparison to other Lebanese places. overall OK.

The lady in charge was very nice and accommodating when I came in late at night, but the shawarma was so dried out that I couldn't eat most of it. :( The Turkish coffee also was not as tasty as others I have had in the past... but it did keep me awake. Maybe it's because it was at the end of the day.

Food is very very good, typical middle East food, falafel, stuffed grape leaves, humus, were simply amazing. Chicken shawarmas very good.
