First visit. Wonderful meal. Appetizers, cocktails, entrees & dessert all outstanding. We were there on a surprisingly busy summer Wednesday night. 1st & 2nd floors appeared full, can't say about 3rd. Noise level was high but tolerable. Wait staff knowledgeable, professional, and prompt. A very good experience.

Can't believe it's taken us this long to finally visit this place. This is such an iconic, more upscale dining experience where we will absolutely be taking friends when they come visit. My ribeye was phenomenal; the fat was cooked perfectly (IYKYK). Great side and good drinks. Was a bit busier but overall service was timely and attentive. Great experience and ambience is one of a kind.

Dress code is total nonsense. Place smells, drinks over priced. Won’t go again.

I had my mind set on the sea bass but then heard the special and decided on that. I wish I stuck with my first choice. I also got the fried green tomatoes which were really good. The waitstaff was very good and professional. I would try again, but maybe get the steak.

I usually love this place but lately the General Manager Rick have been a complete disrespectful person to me and my friends recently when we go into the club. I do not recommend this place because he have been completely nasty and rude.

Aesthetics are fantastic, service was great, drinks were great, food was just good, unfortunately. It wasn’t consistent. Chloe M. was our server and she was top tier. Couldn’t ask for better service. The food just didn’t stand out to us. It tasted a bit cheap compared to what they were charging. My caesar salad was very basic. The crab cakes were okay. The she crab soup was amazing. My seafood pasta was good, but didn’t wow me. My husband loved his lobster but the steak quality just wasn’t there, in his opinion. The dessert was fantastic. I also think a more classical playlist would do the place some good. I don’t really want to listen to artists like Alt-J or Milky Chance when i’m trying to have a fine dining experience but that’s just my two sense. It made me feel like I was in an Applebees or Chilis. Lol. It is beautiful inside though.
I would also like to add it isn’t very stroller friendly. We have a 6 month old and had to carry her stroller up the stairs, and she isn’t quite sitting up on her own yet so we had to sit squished in a booth with her car seat sitting next to me / me holding her the entire time. It would have been nice if they had one of those seats I could put her car seat in.
I also noticed on the reservation that there was supposed to be a dress code, however there were plenty of people dressed in tee shirts and jeans. So I would take the dress code with a grain of salt. Had I known this I would have dressed comfortable.

Third time I’ve been here with my wife. First time bringing the kids with us. Food was fantastic, our server was Thomas. Great guy. Atmosphere was also great

The Tobacco Company has a gorgeous ambiance with style and grace. Our server Nick was professional and provided THE BEST service I have experienced in a very long time. The food was exquisite. Better than I could have cooked myself, and I am a very good cook. The drinks were mixed to perfection. The band was excellent. The cost is high. With dishes in the $30-$50 range.

This is one of our favorite restaurants to go to when we go to Richmond. Recommend to everyone!

Our server was amazing and the food was awesome. Their wine list was very nice except the by the glass, but not a huge deal. The portions are most generous. They had 2 bonified vegan options which was great - as my husband is more of a plant based eater. Just an overall great dining experience.

Great ambience at historic Richmond location. Food and service were excellent. Great place to stop simply for a cocktail if you want to view a historic Richmond building.

The restaurant is beautiful. The bathrooms were extremely clean. While the prices seem high, the taste and quality of the food matched it. Service was impeccable. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Everything went smoothly. We cannot wait to come back.
