Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Richmond

“I had a flat tire on my way to pick up an order from here. I tried calling to inform the staff about the situation, but unfortunately, I couldn't get through. Three hours later, after getting the tire replaced, I finally arrived.

When I explained the delay and why my food had been sitting there for so long, the owner was initially defensive and mentioned it wasn’t their fault, which is totally fair. I was more than willing to accept the food as it was. However, once she realized I was being sincere, she kindly discarded the old food and made me a fresh order. This level of service speaks volumes about the integrity of the people who run this place.

As a side note, I overheard a customer complaining about her ranch dressing being added to the food while it was still being made, claiming the ranch inside the warm wrap was supposed to be cold... What? The whole complaint was over-the-top. Honestly, it’s people like that who test the patience of hardworking staff.

I'm docking one star for atmosphere, only because the staff behind the counter didn’t immediately humble that lady with that absurd complaint.

Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options available

Dietary restrictions: You can easily modify any food that is prepared

Parking: This location has a free dedicated parking lot that usually always has Open spaces

Kid-friendliness: This place isn't very kid friendly. Most of the chairs are bar style chairs and the decor is kind of bland. They also play the same five classic songs on loop constantly.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are double doors but usually one door is locked so it may be difficult to get through the door with a wheelchair without the second door being unlocked. There is handicap parking though.“

“I have run into some issues in the past regarding pricing and food quality at this location. However, I must acknowledge that customer service has consistently been satisfactory. I usually just get the flatbread. I have now ventured into trying their bowls. Among the bowls, the acai bowl stood out with its rich flavor. On the other hand, the PB protein crunch peanut butter "drizzle" was a bit overpowering for my taste. The chia oatmeal pudding was enjoyable as well. As for the Bahama mama bowl, it was acceptable, although the base was somewhat frozen. The granola in all of the bowls was broken up into large pieces, and the mangoes were a little frozen.“

“Pleasantly surprised by this location. I usually go to Willow Lawn becasue it’s closer to my work but I will be visiting this location from now on. Not only is the food quality just overall better but the ppl working there make it a much more welcoming experience.I wanted the Mango Moonstone smoothie but they were sold out. The lady at the front with glasses was very attentive and recommended another popular smoothie that tasted similar and I was not disappointed. The smoothie was blended perfectly and my burrito came out hot and fast. Will come back.“

“I really enjoyed the smoothie that I got here. Most times they're very icy and hard to finish without drinking all the liquid and leaving crushed ice that you have to try to suck up by moving the straw to various different locations. The peanut butter banana crunch flatbread was a different story. There was peanut butter all over the wrapper whichade it very difficult to eat without getting your hands dirty or sticky. There was very little of the honey on it, and the bananas were definitely on the almost blackened stage. I was very disappointed with it from here.“

“Service has always been very friendly at this location. As always great smoothies, Wraps, Quesadillas, Sandwiches, and salad. My favorite is Detox Island Green, it is not for everyone if you don’t like the greens. They seemed to be super busy, but everyone was calm and focused. Great team work. I didn’t have to wait too long for my order. It definitely helps to order ahead.“

“One if us had the Day/night (something like that.) Disappointed. Not much flavor. Actually better tast when it melted down! A strawberry combo was good. Service goid for smoothies, looked QUITE slow for a person who was waiting for their food order.“
