Always has really good selection of beers and wines to suit anyone's tastes. In Roanoke, the specialty hard ciders I enjoy are only carried here. Also, their prices are fair and reasonable. Would recommend.
Staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Don't let the exterior fool you. The inside is very nice and there are multiple isles of beer and wine. An open pour bar and a selection of chilled items.
Barrel Chest is always worth a stop if you are in need of a good variety of beers and wines. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and the self service taps always have good offerings. If you are lucky, you will catch a beer on tap brewed in house by Martin, which he is a genius brewer. I will continue to forever frequent Barrel Chest as long as I live in Roanoke. I have been coming here since they opened, I don't plan on stopping!
