Service was great. Food was ok. I expected better presentation of the food. I had the grouper special. The grouper was good, well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Heirloom carrots were cooked perfectly but seasoned too much which disguised the wonderful fall flavor. This was our first time at Billy's. We will certainly go back again and give it another try.
The food was very good. I had the Mahi Mahi and it was excellent. The service by our waiter was poor. He did not come back to check on us during dinner. We had to ask for bread. When it came time to pay the check, he did not return to the table. Since we had cash, we left the payment on the table and left. Appears he was spending more time talking to the wait staff then the customers. We were celebrating a birthday and advised the restaurant of this when we made our reservation....
First time diners while over night in Roanoke. Promptly seated upon arrival. Tasty beet salad with chicken, crab and corn chowder plus salmon. Excellent service. Only negative was the dining room lighting was way too low.
