Staff went out of their way to help us in an emergency one evening! And of course, great beer!

Google states 8pm closing time and the sign on the door states 8pm closing time. Your in Roanoke for a kids event and you find out deschutes is just down the road and you want to buy 200 dollars worth of reserve bottles to go. Find a parking spot Get all the kids out and in strollers. Walk to buy the bottles and Nope the staff decided to close at 6pm.So can imagine how frustrating that is. Even telling the staff you just want to buy some bottles, nopeI’ll never return. Hate business that can’t be honest with their marketing.

We ran across Deschutes when we were trying to find parking in downtown Roanoke to go to a restaurant nearby. We ended up paying to park so we figured we would check out the brewery in addition to getting dinner closeby. We ended up getting a flight with a few IPAs, Tumalo Kriek Cherry Lambic, and Obsidian Nitro Stout. All of the beers were very good, but Tumalo Kriek was my personal favorite. The tasting room is very clean, and we could see the bartenders making sure the tables were always sanitized as people left. Our service was also very good and friendly. If you plan to visit any Roanoke area breweries, it is worth it to sign up for the Cheers Passport. It's free, doesn't expire for quite awhile, and each member business has additional discounts when you check in.

I was so pleasantly surprised to see Deschutes in Roanoke while visiting from out of town! I am familiar with Deschutes from promoting it in Michigan and I excited to see my favorites (Black Butte and Fresh Squeezed) on their menu. The location is conveniently located in the heart of Roanoke and they have indoor and outdoor seating. We grabbed a brew while waiting for a table at a restaurant nearby and had a nice time!
