Theres a sign at the entrance of Smith Mountain Lake for the Texas Tavern. It says it's open 24 hours a day & it's Roanoke's Millionaires Club. So if you're from Dallas and you remember the Dallas Millionaires Club, you just assume the Texas Tavern is a strip club! Well, it's a diner with 10 seats that only takes cash & been open since 1930!They have a very specific language for the very limited menu but today I just had the cheeseburger which is super yummy! ? It's a great old school place that's definitely worth a stop if you are in Roanoke.

It’s old school experience that has stood the test of time. Don’t go expecting something gourmet as it is certainly not. Super friendly staff just doing something they can do in their sleep. Gotta respect that so try it for the experience at a price point that was a few decades back.

Loved our experience at this 24/7 diner in downtown Roanoke. Almost a century old and the texas-style burgers were great and the chili was solid (especially after adding mustard.) We were there around breakfast on weekday but could see this place as a smash when clubs and breweries close for the night.
