Denny's Reviews
Understaffed is an understatement
I have lived in Salem for nearly my entire life. In fact, I can remember this Denny's being built. Finally, Salem had a 24 hour dinner that was better than Shoney's.
Years would go by where we would have many family meals at Denny's.
I'm not exactly sure when the downfall would start, but it was sometime after I got out of the Army in 2009. For the next decade, service would become spotty and who was cooking the food directly impacted food quality. There becomes...read full review

Based on the reviews, this Denny's restaurant offers a mixed experience. The food can be great, with some meals like salmon described as top notch, though other items like Nachos are just ok. The service is often described as fabulous, fast, friendly, and kind, with servers who keep drinks filled and check on tables. However, the management is a major issue. The restaurant is no longer open 24/7, closing around 12 P.M. There are complaints that management only scheduled one server and one cook, even knowing a large crowd would show, such as after a Metallica concert. This led to a packed house and slow service, with locals having to help seat people. Despite this, the staff who were working were wonderful and deserve raises. One reviewer, a 40-year railroad worker, called it the best place they ever ate at with the best people. Overall, it is a typical Denny's dining experience with great staff but poor management.
