Frankie Rolands (Salem or Roanoke) is a wonderful restaurant which I have patronized for the last decade. Their service is impeccable, the food is outstanding, and the venue is uncrowded and quiet allowing allows uninterrupted conversation. Depending on your consumption of spirits, you should plan on $100 to $140 a person including a well-deserved gratuity. Over the past several months, I have had two opportunities to introduce friends to this wonderful establishment. I am certain that they will also become regular customers.

If Open table won't let me upload a picture and for 15 minutes refused to let me send a Private Note, it's a good thing I am not reviewing Open Table.

The food at Frankie's is always good. Especially if you love cheese, every item seems to have cheese involved in the dish. I'm disappointed that they don't offer more healthy options. However, all the food is always very good with all the cheese!

Great service with lots of helpers

Delicious but inconsiderate. It’s the kind of place that will pour you a $65 shot of tequila without any warning. Sneaky.

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary Saturday 6/20/26. The service was a little slow, based on our previous experiences at this location.
The meals were pretty bland and was not seasoned.
We've dined at the both the Roanoke and Salem locations in the past and have had wonderful experiences, however this recent visit was quite underwhelming.

We had a reservation tonight with three teenagers and two adults, orders can be picky with the kids. We were treated with the same professionalism that would’ve been given to anyone. We had a wonderful time, our server Charlotte was perfect and the food was great. I highly recommend this restaurant, as well as their hotel. We had 7 oz filets and tried a lot of the sides, as they are served family style. The mashed potatoes were the favorite. The onion straws are great, but I suggest asking for half an order of those as even that is huge. The wine list is extensive, & has something for everyone. Great place for a nice dinner, and open on Monday nights.

My boyfriend and I often come here for dinner, we both like the martinis so often will drink together. The other night we went for dinner and I had just gotten off work and didn’t have my ID on me because I don’t really bring my wallet to work with me so I just ordered a water while my boyfriend ordered a tiramisu martini. We had ordered $180 worth of food. We had 3 separate people help us, one bring us our water, one bring us our bread and another take our order, which wasn’t a problem. So my boyfriend got his drink and I decided to take a SIP of it, when I say sip I mean his drink was still filled nearly to the brim, I might as well have just dipped my tongue in his drink like seriously. Well, a server who had not helped us since we arrived came up to our table and asked me for my ID and I explained to her I didn’t have it and I profusely apologized and said I had just taken a sip, without explaining to us any protocol or whatsoever she just took his drink away. I want to make it clear that I understand if someone does not have their ID they cannot get a drink, which is why I had my water, my issue was her accusatory attitude that just made me feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. It honestly just ruined the mood for the night and we hadn’t even been there 15 mins, also why is this random girl in our business in the first place when she wasn’t our server and didn’t even serve my boyfriend his drink? I thought maybe I was just being dramatic but I’ve talked to several people who all agreed with me and said they’d be uncomfortable as well. I wanted to cancel the food order and leave but our food was already ready so I just felt obligated to pay but we still told our server we wanted to take it to go. Oh and my boyfriends steak was borderline raw lol. Our server was nice and helpful tho.

The environment was super cool, the service was friendly and attentive. I will list why I gave a 3 star review. When you walk to and from the restroom, waiters and employees are literally speed walking to a from the second dining area from the kitchen. I don’t know how many times I almost got ran into. The a/c was set at an uncomfortably cold temperature. The table we were sat at did not have me facing the other person at my table. I was facing another persons table and the other person at my table was facing another table. Not sure why I was placed at this table when I made a reservation and there were other tables nearby that were empty. The food was very expensive and I can say that the best part was the salad, everything else was mediocre or lacked flavor. We had ordered the Brussels sprouts as a side and it was very greasy and salty towards the bottom which made it inedible. The tomahawk steak was edible but for the price I expected a steak that would melt in my mouth. Some of the best meats I’ve had were aged but it did not seem like much effort was put into this cut. I can say that I have eaten at better establishments for cheaper than what was paid at this was one and the food was unforgettable; I cannot say the same about this place sadly.

The dining area is bit dark, makes it difficult to read the menu. The wait staff is very kind. The mushroom and crab appetizer was tasty, the asparagus was cooked perfectly. The pecan salmon was not very good at all. The $69 steak was cooked perfectly but must have been poor quality meat it was very chewy. Most upscale restaurants I have been to the steak is tender and easy to chew. The mashed potatoes were over salted, the onions.. I’m not sure what they are aiming for but way too salty and looked more like something you’d find at a cheaper restaurant. I tried the pineapple martini, since I had seen others say they were great. Mine was lacking pineapple flavor burned when it went down and after 2 sips I left it. The water was good. For a $231 bill I would have expected way more flavor and less salt.

I love this place! I recommend raise the lighting just a tad. For us older folks, we need a little more lighting. But other than that, go and make sure you get some creme brulee.
