Mama Maria's is now our favorite Salem Restaurant. We were gone from this area for over 22 years and recently moved back here after retiring. I have tried a lot of Italian Restaurants, but none of them match up to this one (except maybe one in NY). Since we re-found this, we have returned at least once per week since our return. This was the 2nd time coming to eat got there early normally you get bread with oils to dip which I really like but this time I didn't get it which the waiter said it was not ready but I found it odd that the next couple that came in not even five minutes after we set got it immediately and we had not even got our food which was ok but not the best not sure if we will be back anytime soon
We found this gem as we were traveling to South Carolina. Since we are all senior citizens,we ordered off the Sr citizen menu. We all ordered veal parmigiana, the size was perfect and the food was delicious. The walter was young and attentive, so attentive that he was removing empty plates before my friend was even done eating. There was no room left for Gelato, which was very tempting..
