“We have been here a handful of times and they have yet to disappoint. We get the same thing every time, combo D, du jour seasoning, spicy. If you come on Saturday you can add a half pound of snow crab legs you get half a pound free with combo D. Everything we have tried has been good but if I had to pick something I wouldn't get again it would be the oysters, they weren't bad but not the best I've ever had either. But I still can't complain, we will definitely be back“

“On my drive from Florida to Pennsylvania, I made an early pitstop in Roanoke, Virginia, and stumbled upon It’s Pho Time. It had great reviews, so I decided to give it a shot—and I’m so glad I did! We ordered the chicken and pork vermicelli, and it was hands-down the best vermicelli we’ve ever had. The fresh sliced cucumber gave it the perfect refreshing crunch.
I complimented one of the young owners on how incredible the food was and glanced toward the kitchen. I spotted an elderly woman and asked if she was the chef, assuming a dish this authentic had to come from years of experience. He laughed and pointed to the young guy standing next to her. I couldn't believe it—this tasted like a traditional recipe passed down through generations! That young chef is seriously talented. It’s Pho Time is a true hidden gem.“

“Food was good, but the chicken gnocchi soup was salty today. I went back to Olive Garden and was very happy. I tried something new today. The Calabrian Steak and Shrimp Bucatini was wonderful! The medium heat from the sauce didn't bother me at all! The pumpkin butter cookie cheesecake topped everything off as my dessert. I had a great experience here. I encountered very friendly staff and wonderful service. The atmosphere was great!“

“I had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Brood Restaurant & Bar tonight, and this is easily a place I'd come back to the next time I'm in Salem.
I sat at the bar and Becky took incredible care of me. She was genuinely friendly, easy to talk to, and kept me updated throughout the evening. Even though they were fairly busy, everything came out incredibly timely and I never felt forgotten about or rushed. The restaurant itself is beautiful, too. It's modern without feeling cold or overly trendy. The best way I can describe it is a very polished, comfortable, homestead-millennial kitchen, and I mean that as a compliment.
I started with the oysters, which came as an order of six and were wonderfully fresh and delicious. I personally would've loved a little more heat in the cocktail sauce, and I did find a couple of tiny shell pieces in the oysters. That didn't bother me because, well, oysters come from shells, but it's worth mentioning for anyone who's particularly sensitive to that.
For dinner, I had the salmon and eggplant, and when I say the potatoes were CRISPY, I mean CRISPY. Absolutely phenomenal texture. The salmon was beautifully cooked, incredibly soft, buttery, and tender. If you prefer salmon closer to medium or medium-well, I'd mention that when ordering because this preparation definitely highlights that softer texture. My only tiny wish was for a sprinkle of finishing salt over the top. The potatoes were so good that just a hair more salt would've pushed them completely over the edge.
And then there was the tomato soup with feta.
I have no constructive criticism. None. Take my notes away.
It was absolutely delicious. Smooth, deeply tomatoey, and the little pieces of feta brought this salty, creamy element that I wasn't expecting to love nearly as much as I did. I could've eaten an irresponsible quantity of it. Frankly, if Brood had provided a sufficiently large bowl, I might have bathed in it.
Excellent food, a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere, genuinely great service from Becky, and a meal that felt thoughtful from beginning to end. There are always tiny things you can nitpick about any dinner, but none of them took away from what was an absolutely fantastic experience.
I'll happily be back.“
