Good food. Had a nice experience with the place. Lentil soup is so nice .
We had a very enjoyable experience at Big Meadow’s Spottswood Dining Room. We ate out on the deck with magnificent views of the valley and the sun beginning to set. We make it a point to try unusual menu items so the peanut soup was a must-do. It was interesting, something we’d try again but maybe not often. The beef tips and trout were very good. We were staying at Skyland but Big Meadows was a nicer dining experience.
Visited yesterday for lunch and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. No reason this place should be below 4 stars, maybe even 5. It was the best lunch I’ve ever had. The shepherds pie was something I felt like I’d have in a fine dining establishment with a $30+ price tag, not $17.50. The views are incredible and so was the blackberry pie. It was extremely fresh and capped off the best lunch I’ve ever had. 10/10. Easily.

Despite some inconsistent service, Spottswood Dining Room remains a decent option, especially since it is one of the few places to eat in the area. The restaurant is quiet and clean, with limited variety but tasty food. Parking is available nearby.
