“We had a very enjoyable experience at Big Meadow’s Spottswood Dining Room. We ate out on the deck with magnificent views of the valley and the sun beginning to set. We make it a point to try unusual menu items so the peanut soup was a must-do. It was interesting, something we’d try again but maybe not often. The beef tips and trout were very good. We were staying at Skyland but Big Meadows was a nicer dining experience.”

“Got the ribs and pulled pork plus some sides today. Excellent meats, smoked to perfection, tender and lean. The baked beans must be baked in the smoker as they tasted like it.The coleslaw has just the right amount of mayo and celery seed, not too much. Glad we bought enough for a leftover dinner too.”

“I have eaten at Broad Porch Coffee Company twice now. The first time I had the chai latte with a Biscuit Sammy and both were very delicious! The second time was at their Porchlight Plates, private dinner service which was managed by Brandon Tapley, whom I must say did an impeccable job! The food creations, by Maria Cooper, during this event was incredibly scrumptious! They provided a very memorable dining experience with beautiful ambience and decor! The service by Abby was impeccable and the live music by Tjax_21 was fantastic! I really can’t say enough good things about Broad Porch or recommend it enough! You simply have to try this place out.”

“We could not have been happier with our wedding cake! We chose a two-tier Boston cream cake with vintage piping, and it was just as beautiful as it was delicious.

Since we aren't from the area, we weren't able to do a tasting beforehand, so ordering our wedding cake without ever trying it felt like a bit of a risk, but WOW, did it pay off! The cake was absolutely delicious, and out guests raved about it all evening. We had so many people tell us how much they loved it!

“This owner was actually working at the fair, and I had placed an online order not knowing that he wasn't at this normal location. When I called about the online order, he explained to me where he was, offered to make my order and meet me at one of the fair gates for me to pick it up. Super kind, very understanding and went above and beyond to make sure I still got my order. I feel bad for not taking pictures, but the food was wonderful and definitely worth going to get! I'll definitely be ordering from him in the future 🙏🏾💜”

“Been here a few times and the food was excellent and owners have did a lot work to the place and it looks nice .on Mother’s Day we eat there and waitress was so sweet and told my wife and mom happy Mother’s Day .It’s only been one time eat there and it was satarday night and the waitress was a young girl and didn’t give us plates or sliver wear, or napkins ,the other waitress had too and she didn’t check on us much .I know they was busy but she walked by us to give other tables food so she could have stopped .the other waitress had to refill my wife’s drink and she even stopped and ask if we need anything .other then that it was excellent!”

“We had the mussels for an appetizer, they were amazing. I had the frutti di mare linguine and it was done perfect. Very flavorful. Husband got the stomboli and he loved it. Shelby, our server was good with suggestions and provided wonderful service. Took 3 desserts home to try. The portions were very generous.”

“We had a fantastic meal at the Speakeasy Bar. We booked a last minute trip to Luray to hike in Shenendoah so didn't book anything. We thogurj we would chance the Speakeasy and, although it was really busy, the lovely staff managed to squeeze us in on the terrace.

The food and wine were really lovely, exactly what we needed after a long day hiking. My steak in particular was delicious, as was the Virginia Cab Franc wine we tried. As mentioned, all the staff were great, but a special shout-out to our waiter Kevin, who was fantastic. Although it was really busy, he still was able to take his time with us and helped with our orders and wine recommendation and also recommended hikes for our next day. A real pleasure to meet!

“This was the most amazing food myself or my husband have ever had! Many many kudos to the chef! Very high end restaurant in a historic hotel. Make reservations as there is very limited seating options. Not a child friendly environment. Although we did not wear formal attire and they did not look down on us at all for our clothes, everyone else was dressed very formal.”

Cassie and her staff are amazing people and they have the best fried Oreo's and Funnel cakes we have ever eaten in our whole life. Very clean. Very professional.
