“My family spent the day at Jamestown Beach then rode the Ferry over into Surry. Passed by and literally did a quick u-turn and so glad we did! Kids all got huge and delicious ice cream cones (Richlands Dairy is hands down our favorite) and my husband and I bought cupcakes (all Wizard of Oz themed) to try once we got home. Some of the best cupcakes we’ve ever eaten! We will definitely be back to try more.”

“We recently had lunch at the Surry Seafood Company while in the area. we were looking for a seafood restaurant, and it did not disappoint! Our server was fantastic and on top of everything. Our food came out in short time, and it was delicious! To top things off, the view of the River was fantastic. Every seat in the restaurant seemed to have a wonderful scenic view. We even saw a Bald Eagle dip into the river and pull out a fish! Afterwards, we walked down to the marina and enjoyed a few minutes there as well. Highly recommend, and worth the drive to dine here!”

“What a wonderful evening we had! We sat at the bar and were offered cocktail suggestions and pairings. The food was absolutely wonderful. The bartenders were very friendly and accommodating. The chef/owner came to see us after dinner too! We will remember this as one of our the best nights out!”

“We've been to Amber Ox many times since they opened and never had a bad experience. I was especially impressed tonight (6/13/25) however when we went to dinner with my mother. We were initially seated at a high top table and the hostess took notice of the fact that it was difficult and uncomfortable for my mom to navigate. She took it upon herself to move us to a regular table (#17). Additionally, our server Hailey D. was incredibly sweet and attentive and of course, the food and drinks were impeccable as always. Thank you again for a wonderful dining experience and props to Hailey and the Head Hostess who went above and beyond. Your efforts were much appreciated!”

“This is by far one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to! True authentic food. Wish we lived closer so we could go more often! Everything from the bread, pasta dishes, to the desserts are all homemade and SO good. We even had a musician come and serenade us! 10/10!!!”

“I Typically get crumbl maybe once to twice a month when one of my favorite flavors comes around. I only like the taste of the chocolate/brownie based cookies. Sometimes they skimp with the toppings, but overall Im satisfied.”

“We had a wonderful dining experience from the welcoming greeters at the door to our wonderful server. The food was amazing from pea soup to steak to dessert, and the punch bowl! The Pringle’s ginger beer drink was very good, too. My daughter loved the oysters. It was a wholesome experience with live music and authenticity in the details (even the silverware is made in Williamsburg). It was also a treat to eat somewhere where historical figures dined in colonial times, but also really an art form to serve a menu inspired by recipes from the 1700s (and everything tasted amazing and fresh). The service was pretty impeccable for the whole staff (lots of servers, greeters, and staff).”

“My wife and I had a truly exceptional date night at Opus 9 Steakhouse. From the moment we walked in, the ambience set the perfect tone — elegant, warm, and inviting. Our waitress, Wren, was phenomenal. She struck the perfect balance of professionalism and personality — funny, attentive, and on point all evening. She made us feel genuinely cared for, and her timing and recommendations were flawless. For dinner, my wife had the Filet Mignon with Potatoes Au Gratin, and I had the NY Strip Au Poivre with the same side. Both were cooked to absolute perfection — tender, flavorful, and plated beautifully. The potatoes au gratin were rich and comforting, the ideal complement to the steaks. My Old Fashioned was also mixed perfectly — smooth, balanced, and one of the best I've had. What really impressed us was the consistency across the board: service, food, cocktails, atmosphere, and presentation all hit the highest standard. Opus 9 delivered the kind of fine-dining experience you hope for when planning a special night out, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. We'll absolutely be back — and if you're lucky enough to have Wren as your server, you're in for a wonderful evening.”

“A great, casual place with outstanding food & super nice staff. We had the Korean sandwich, the bbq sandwich & the slider, along with loaded fries. Everything is cooked to order which means your food comes out hot & fresh. I had the rosemary pepper seasoning on the fries- so good!

“We ordered pick up thru postmates Saturday April 20th and we were extremely happy with everything we ordered. we ordered the quesabirria which was so big my 3 yr old thought it was a pizza and I was so happy with the size because I got to eat it for a couple days for lunch too. we also got the beef tips chimichanga dinner, queso dip and guacamole. Everything was just so delicious. I will definitely recommend them and I will definitely order from here again in the future!
