“Charming historic home in beautiful Hunt Country. Couples out for a casual night and expected superb food and service. Service was as expected, polite, pleasant and timely. Malbec was perfect. Foods ordered: Pot Pie, Risotto, Seared Trout and Steak Frites. The pot pie was flavorful but the coconut was unexpected - if the description had included coconut, we would have made another choice. The risootto was an ugly, baby-foodish glob on a plate. No discernable risotto could be found and the sensation in the mouth was as bad as the plate looked. Mushy, unappetizing. The blackened trout was well prepared and flavorful. Steak frites were tasty, but meat not trimmed well and some gristle made pieces unedible. The fries that accompanied were end pieces from potatoes, leftover from mashed potatoe prep? The prices were high, common for this area. Servings were plentiful but the food quality left us with "glad we went but won't go back".”

“Ordered takeout and this pizza is delicious! Prompt friendly service and a variety of options. My personal opinion, the best pizza place in the Canaan valley area.”
“We stayed two nights at the Red Fox Inn while celebrating our 46th Wedding Anniversary. The Orange County room in the original historic building was cozy, spacious and well-appointed. The bed was really comfortable and the sitting room was perfect for sipping champagne and wine at night or enjoying the box breakfast and coffee in the morning. We were not disappointed with our room selection for our stay in Middleburg. Our stay was wonderful and a memorable experience. The tavern bar is also small and cozy but does not open until 4:30 PM. Only one disappointment was that The Tavern Inn no longer offers lunch and their dinners are limited to a rather pricey $125 per person 4-course meal offering since the ala carte menu was discontinued a while back. Without the ability to choose from a wider and more reasonably priced menu selection, we chose to eat elsewhere in Middleburg during our stay.”
“Do not order their food! Their cider is very good. But the food was absolutely horrible.”
“Very nice place and staff. The view is amazing and the beer is great.”

“I build furniture and cabinetry, and the last few weeks we installed cabinetry near Round Hill, Virginia. We tried a few places in the area for lunch, and then visited this place for a sandwich. The food was so good, we abandoned all the other spots and ate here for the next five days. My only issue, as it was cold outside, is that there is no place to eat inside these days. Perhaps bring a few tables back for this purpose. Favorite sandwich: turkey, havarti, pickles, on sourdough bread.”

“Before my husband passed away, he said he wanted me to throw him a party instead of a memorial. I held a Celebration of Life for him Friday evening (his birthday) in the Bear Cave. I cannot speak highly enough of the venue, staff, food, and drinks. My heartfelt thanks to Leslie and Caroline, and kudos to the caterers.💗”

“Great inexpensive bar food. Friendly folks. I went on blues open mike night (8 pm,last Thursday of the month) and the music was outstanding. Get there early because there was only one bar stool left when I arrived at 7:15.”

“Wondetful experience! Enjoyed date night with my 91 year old dad. the service was genuinely friendly and lightning fast, and our meals were piping hot and seriously good! My father had Seafood Pasta, and it was loaded with lobster, scallops & Shrimp, fresh crisp veggies over linguini...and the sauce was excellent. In spite of a small appetite, he ate the entire dish! I had the Chicken Piccatta with Angel Hair pasta & a glass of Prosecco. Delicious!! The bill was only $64! The atmosphere is quite basic, but the experience easily made up for that...I'll be making this a regular go to.”
“I had a wonderful experience during my stay here. I stayed in the Adams room at the schoolhouse building. The room was beautiful extremely well appointed. The customer service has been absolutely excellent. We also had dinner at the restaurant which was phenomenal. Great menu and great wine list. I will definitely return. I’ve been visiting the Middleburg area for many years and this is my first time staying or dining at the Ashby, I’m so glad I have discovered it.”

“Yes we are proud to be in Virginia to be one of the first states in America to introduce the wine to other continent the wine was introduced by the settlers migrants from Europe mostly from France Italy and from Germany Eugenia climate it's good for certain kind of wines because it's colder than California however wines are excellent when it comes to taste asset quality in Virginia near to Washington DC also in the beginning of wine making America New York state was one of the prominent ones in 1917 the wine was introduced to California Napa and Sonoma counties after research any visit to the Virginia winery twin oaks winery in Blue Mount Virginia I'm very impressed with the quality of Virginia wines it should be listed in every upscale restaurant in Washington DC metropolitan area from Northern Virginia restaurants Washington DC and Maryland a big potential I see it's to export to new developing countries would be develop a taste for the good quality Virginia wine blackasia Middle East China and South America”

“They were very warm and welcoming. Very nice to my daughter who we took there for a small “turning 21” bday party! The fireplace is warm and inviting. The wood fire pizza is so delicious and lots of different ones to choose from. My husband and I have been going there for a few years. They have mocktails for those not old enough or just prefer not to drink which I think is awesome. Dog and kid friendly. The upstairs is comfy couches and chairs and great view!”
“Sunday, April 22, 2024, my wife and I were entertained at Delaplane Cellars tasting room by our old friends Keith & Viqui Dill AKA the Dill Pickers. We had a fantastic time listening to some great Bluegrass and Blues selections while enjoying several glasses of exquisite wine. We are hoping that they will book the Dill Pickers in the future and give us more than one day's notice so we can invite several friends to their venue. The staff were very courteous and attentive to our needs. As a disabled Vietnam veteran, I sometimes am not the most graceful so when I accidentally knocked over my glass of wine the staff were there instantly to clean up the mess and replace my wine. Our visit was exhilarating and the views were beautiful.”
“Loved the wines!! The ambiance was amazing!! Don’t let the outside fool you!! Beautiful inside ❤️”

“This is the best restaurant in the area. Yes they’re fancier places, more expensive places, but this is my favorite. El agave is a very small chain. I love all of the food I’ve ever had here. Each time down you receive salsa and chips, and they are so delicious. The salsa is so fresh, and the chips come out hot and crispy.
Service is always excellent, the food comes out quickly and efficiently. I guess my favorite dish is probably fajitas. I got chicken topped with chorizo last time I was there, it was excellent.
I make it a point to stop here every time I’m in the area !!”

“Quality products offered. Helpful staff. Chef gave me extra au jus for the beef short rib stroganoff - it was excellent. Only complaint is they can often be out of our favorites! Must be other peoples’ favorites too.”
