It's extremely nice, and the beer here is probably the best you're going to find in Roanoke. The staff is great, and their growlers are reasonably priced. They don't stay open very late, so be sure to get there early.“

The surrounding breweries are great don’t get me wrong but it seems that they have turned into what seems like a kids play ground. This one is not. “Nice rural relaxing atmosphere (that also heats up from time to time with fun events). The wings are some of the best in town, and the burgers are great too. The staff is very welcoming as well. Amy is very knowledgeable about the history of the building and always has a fun story to tell. Chad is always smiling and happy to make sure your visit was enjoyable. “We had a great experience at the Barrel Chest! We showed up 30 minutes before closing and the staff was still very welcoming. The tasting experience was very cool and their selection of beer and wine is impressive. The two people working (12/6) were extremely friendly and gave us some local recommendations while we are in the area. Would definitely come back to the Barrel Chest and highly recommend to anyone visiting for a unique experience before dinner.“
