Excellent food. One of my former co-workers turned me on to Ellen's Homestyle (when we used to work together) for lunch and I've been a fan of Ellen's food ever since and that was years ago when we worked together in Virginia Beach. I get the 4 wings, Mac and cheese and cabbage or collard greens. Her food is absolutely delicious and if you like well cooked and seasoned soul food Ellen's is the place to go.

I wasn't even planning to do another food review today—I was just out running errands and got hungry. I happened to come across this place, looked at the menu, and immediately knew I had to give it a try. It ended up being one of the best decisions I made all day.

I ordered the pulled pork barbecue with collard greens, yams, macaroni and cheese, and coleslaw. Let me just say... everything was phenomenal.

I'm extremely picky...

I stopped in as a referral from my sister and I was not disappointed. I always get catfish if they have it at a Soulfood restaurant and this catfish was very well seasoned. The collard greens were not overly vinegar or overly seasoned and the macaroni and cheese was excellent just the right amount of cheese. I would recommend this restaurant to all my soul food lovers. Plus, Miss Ellen was extremely nice very conversational and made me feel welcome and I will return next time....
