Delicious Filipino home cooking. You can feel the love they put into the food. They give a good amount of rice, meat is tender, soup is flavorful, no complaints. Price is reasonable for what you get and you just feel at home when you eat there. Grab some dessert at Roela's bakery right next door, perfect date! Definitely coming back to eat here!

Got there right before they were about to close. Not a lot to choose from at this time, but the Pansit was awesome. We also tried some desserts that were delectable. Very nice service.

I ordered 3 items from here: carioca, BBQ sticks (pork & chicken), and turon! These were absolutely delicious!! The carioca were huge! I wish I got more, the turon was also huge and I wish I got more. Both were fresh, crispy and heavenly! I still dream of every bite I had. The carioca had a crystallized on the outside that made it even more incredible. The BBQ sticks were excellent! The pork and chicken were excellent quality. I don't know who else is making Filipino food in VA Beach this food! In my opinion, this place is the gold standard. I even read a sign that said they don't make huge quantities because they do not want the quality to be compromised. I will make a special trip to VA Beach just to buy this food!

Ordered the moongo and rice with hotdog and bbq pork. My husband got the sisig and rice with crispy pata. For dessert, we got turon. All were delicious and reminded us of home. The staff were also very pleasant and nice to talk to. We will definitely be back!!

This is the worst Filipino food I ever been. The price was to expensive!.. food was terrible and cold!! And the portion they gave me was not enough for $899 + tax!! Top of that they charge you $.50 for soup wow I was expecting it would be free.. Man I go to Felynn or ihaw ihaw and Susan kitchen I get soup for free all the time!! For two entry and with soup and 2drink I only spend $20 for 2 entry with 2 soda and 2soup and they give a lot of food! But SALO SALO! It’s a joke!! All this good reviews with 5star they all probably know each other. But me will never never going back to SALO SALO !!! SO SAVE YOUR MONEY. Just go to felynn, ihaw ihaw or Susan kitchen and I promise you wont be disappointed!!

I'm not a Filipino food connoisseur but this food was delicious. I went in with no expectations. The establishment markets itself as a Filipino restaurant and grocery store. Don't expect lots of groceries and don't expect some fancy restaurant. This is more of a fast food takeout joint that happens to sell a few Asian pantry necessities. I got pancit and 2 entree options for $10. The servings were good and generous. The pancit had a lot of chicken inside which I was not expecting. The stir fried veggies were flavorful and each vegetable had the right crunch - no over cooked veggies here!! The second entree I had no idea what it was but it was just as delicious - minced pork with chunks of sweet potato and what I made out to be raisins. The best part of my meal was the $8 halo halo. This has been THE best halo halo I've had (I've unfortunately have not had the opportunity to try it in the Philippines. This particular cup consisted of a wide assortment of toppings - coconut, jack fruit, flan, ube, ube ice cream, various types of jellies. I will definitely be back next year when I'm in town again!!
