I was on a business trip to Winchester, VA, and was recommended to Island Delight. I ordered oxtail, curry goat and dumplings. The oxtail’s meat was so tender and tasty, was wonderful! The curry goat was amazing! Both are spicy, but not too spicy, just right! Dumplings were soft inside and crispy on the outside, and it has a likkle bit of sweetness, and it’s not dry at all! I was not even that hungry, but I ate all of the dumplings, didn’t even save one for tomorrow....
I was disappointed that the restaurant had recently closed because my mother had been raving about this place for months. (A hint that I need to visit my mother more often) They now run a food truck fairly close to the original location where they now serve food. LARGE PORTIONS!
The best Caribbean food is hands down in Winchester. Very reasonable price and tastes great. Can wait until I'm back in Winchester worth driving 3 hours if not just to order again. THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM!!!!!!!
