An Unforgettable Evening of Whiskey and Warmth
What an incredible find! The Burlington Whiskey Room transported my partner and me straight to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere of a classic Irish pub. The absence of TVs was a blessing, encouraging genuine conversation and allowing us to fully savor the experience.
The bar staff were exceptional—attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. Their expertise guided us through a fantastic whiskey journey. We started with a flight that spanned the globe (USA, Ireland, Scotland, and even local Vermont offerings) before moving on to their stunning cocktails.
I highly recommend the Catcher in the Rye, a masterful blend of Bulleit Rye, hazelnut liqueur, and chai bitters, and the Portrait of Mortimer and Mauve, which was like a sophisticated, liquid dessert with its rich Whistlepig Rye and maple notes.
The food was on par with the drinks. The Goat Cheese Flatbread was a revelation—clean, refreshing, and bursting with flavor from the prosciutto, whiskey onions, and spiked blueberries. We ended our night with the Vermont Maple Cheesecake, which was easily one of the best I've ever had.
If you love excellent craft cocktails, delicious food, and good conversation, this place is an absolute must-visit. We cannot wait to return.

Very happy with the experience. Food, while limited, was on point. Drinks is where they excel, bartenders know their stuff. If I'm ever in the area again you'll find me here. This is the spot if you want a chill and welcoming atmosphere.

After a relaxing dinner elsewhere with exactly one low-ABV cocktail, my friend and I stopped by for what we thought would be a chill glass of whiskey to end the night. We were greeted warmly outside by the server who invited us in and told to grab a seat, browse the menu, and order at the bar whenever we were ready. We were looking forward to some whiskey and conversation.
Then, out of nowhere, the bartender who reeked of booze and looked like he’d been using the shelves for personal sampling, lurches over and says he “watched us walk in” and decided we’d had too much to drink. Just like that. Zero conversation, zero questions, just pure drunk condescension. We were calm, sober, and respectful. It was so baseless it felt like we were being pranked. It was clear that the only one too drunk to serve at this bar was the bartender himself.
If this review gets a response trying to justify it, just know: gaslighting sober guests who were clearly fine while stumbling around and slurring through your own customer interactions isn’t the flex you think it is.
Hospitality requires professionalism, not preemptive judgment from a bartender more interested in sampling the stash and flashing his ego than good service. There are plenty of great spots in Burlington where you’re treated like a guest, not a nuisance. This is not one of them.
