About Leunig's Bistro

Leunig's Bistro is a small, cozy restaurant known for its French-style atmosphere and diverse menu options. It offers dishes with a French leaning, like the highly praised onion soup, which one reviewer called the best they've ever had. The steak frites is cooked perfectly and served with a delicious red wine demi and crispy fries, making it a popular choice. The Duck Confit Poutine receives special mention for its light, well-seasoned gravy and generous portion of duck. The bistro also features a good selection of drinks, including a great martini, and knowledgeable staff who provide attentive service. The atmosphere is lovely, with a lively yet intimate setting, though tables are close together, which can make it noisy at times. The menu includes vegetarian options, such as an African stew, and occasionally Italian dishes. While some found the staff, especially the host, a bit less friendly, overall, guests enjoy the excellent food, good service, and the opportunity to do some shopping nearby. Reservations are recommended, as the restaurant is often busy.

We were visiting our granddaughter at UVM and took her and her dad to this charming bistro for dinner. We had a great meal - steak frites, 1/2 rack of lamb, jerk swordfish, and a veggie pasta in Parmigiana cream sauce, preceded by excellent cocktails and followed by delicious desserts. The classic art deco ambience was perfect. When you can wow three generations including an 18 year old, you're definitely doing a great job!.

The Host and Server were very polite and friendly. The host gave us the table that I asked for :o) when I walked in. It was my father's 89th birthday and he likes sitting there. The food as always was delicious. Two of us had the Filet, which was cooked perfectly and one person had the sword fish and he said it was yummy!!! I can't forget the 3 orders of escargot which were delicious!!!

Excellent as always! The food was superb, the service was excellent and the atmosphere is awesome!
