The clam chowder was not hot. The burger was inedible: well done even though medium rare had been ordered. No condiments on a very dry bun. The Vermont cheese plate was only so-so. Too much white cheese and a few grapes and 2 crackers.
We were wandering around Woodstock Vt looking for food that was not a burger and fries around and heard another couple mention eating at the end. So we headed that direction. Their unique farm to table hooked right away. I had the butternut squash soup with nuts and brown sugar on top and a grilled cheese sandwich. This grilled cheese was not your mothers grilled cheese! It had beets and salad as well as two kinds of cheese. It was amazing. My husband had 1/2 of my sandwich and...
Apple butternut soup quite literally restored my hearts. They say their ingredients are fresh, and I must say, I'm inclined to believe them. I'd never had a soup that tasted refreshing until eating here.
Service was very friendly and the delicious, made-to-order food came out quick.
