The curated beer selection (20+), from all PNW breweries is exceptional; best on the island. The employees are nice, inviting and knowledgeable. The food is good (we went RIGHT before closing) and I think the food would been tastier earlier in the day but I was still satisfied. I prefer Hazy or NE IPAs and they had 2-3 high quality offerings on tap. I really appreciated that. Some of the other breweries/tap houses in S Whidbey seem to have a vendetta against fruit-forward, crushable...
How welcome is this transition to the Barnyard in Freeland! Finally an establishment with a long food history on Whidbey, collaborating with neighbors, with a niche of smoked meat sandwiches with a refurbished dining room and still the best outdoor sipping and daily eating area on the south end! The owners of the well lived Braeburn have fully embraced and taken over this fabulous dog and family friendly spot and I think theywill be here for a long time to come…well done!!!
The host made us feel we were having lunch with relatives. So warm and friendly. The beer and cider selection is considerable. The food is solid and not fancy but tasty. The brownie was out of this world.
