The China Pearl restaurant was given a poor review by our innkeepers. We thought we would try it anyway and were they wrong. \n\nThe food was good and they serve Japanese, Chinese, and Korean dishes. We had vegetable chow mein with tofu and szechuan tofu. They make their own noodles. Both dishes were flavorful. The portion sizes were good for two meals. If you’re looking for an Asian restaurant with a variety of options like Chinese, Japanese, Sushi, and Teriyaki, this spot offers a decent range of choices. We stopped in hoping to grab a quick meal before catching the ferry back to the mainland, especially since we’ve visited the San Juan Islands several times and hadn’t tried Asian cuisine here before.

I spent the day in Friday Harbor while on land during a San Juan Cruises Boat Cruise out of Bellingham. I had walked around a lot and was tired and hungry. It was a hot day in July.

As soon as I came in the door, a nice lady greeted me and kindly seated me. I received water right away, which I really appreciated.

They took my order quickly and I received my food just as fast. I ordered the Sesame Chicken with Rice. It was delicious!
