I’m Mexican and in case you are not …there is a rule. When you go to a sitdown Mexican restaurant you don’t order street food unless you’re broke… and if you are broke, it’s OK no one will judge you. But this is a sitdown restaurant and I followed the rules.

Taqueria El Jacalito is a Mexican restaurant in Kent. It is a working man’s place. The price to quality is perfect. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Everything ordered came out quickly and tasted amazing.
The menu has big plates of food for under $20, with the option of grilled chicken or roasted chicken. The salsa was spicy. The salsa bar was big with several different hot sauces. The habanero creamy salsa was a first and the best. The mojarras are a favorite. Other highlights were the Chicken Flautus with Rice and Beans, the Chile Relleno and Enchilada Combo with Rice and Beans, the tacos, the salsas, the refried beans, and fresh tortillas.
The spices were spot on. The rice was some of the freshest tasting. The food was fantastic. It is the best Mexican Food outside of a Mexican household. This is authentic Mexican food. Whether stopping by for a quick meal or dining with family and friends, El Jacalito is a great choice.
