I did not like the smell of glasses of water. It was very disappointing to begin with. The service was good, and the food was average.

The tuna on the Spicy Tuna rolls was discolored and smelled fishy. The Red Dragon Roll ($19.00) was missing from my order. Very small amount of food for $87.00! Will not go back! Grocery store sushi rolls look and taste better!

The rolls were acceptable, but not extraordinary. The prices were comparatively high. The ambience was not warm, the menus were rather limited, and printed on single sheets of paper. We had one set of menus for the two of us, and they clearly had been well used. A plus was that a salad and miso was complimentary. However, the salad had been prepared earlier in the day, and had been chilled too much in the fridge.

The restaurant is clean and minimalist.I recommend the "Sushi Lunch A " include: miso soup?, salad ? sushi ? and California Roll.

We had decent sashimi and pretty good seared cod, but nothing phenomenal, especially for the price and location. The super heavy and tall front door is something of a deterrent. The service was okay, but the prices are high for what they seem to be aiming for here. We walked in on a Thursday evening and it was super quiet even though they asked if we had a reservation. For a more enjoyable authentic dining experience, Izumi, across the highway is still our mainstay for special meals.Kid-friendliness: There are no high chairs here.

Day old sushi ? super salty, unprofessional unattentive waiter, over priced, minimal selection of Sushi rolls. I have been to many sushi restaurants and it was the worst ever so far. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have good sushi. There are literally no words for how the waiter treated us. Pretty much like we were putting him out for basic things like the utensils he didn't give us and the water.

Servers were more interested in going home early than in serving us. A half hour before closing, they took away our soy sauce and brought the check. They never asked if we wanted anything more than the 8 pieces of sushi we (2 people) started with!Sushi was good. Not the very best cuts but fresh. The place is kind of austere but just fine. I just don't think we'll go back because of the way we were treated.

Parking: I was there on Sunday somewhat early. My friends and I had reservations for 5:30; there were only a few people, but the place filled up around 6:00-6:30.I'm giving it 4 stars for food - everything was fresh and tasty. I feel to have 5 stars it would have to be outstanding, terrific, something out of this world, but it so seldom is. So, 4 stars for a very good meal.I'm giving it 3 stars for service. The people serving were very nice, but it seemed like they really didn't know the dishes, the usual high-school or college students. Also, the biggest disappointment is that they didn't have the desert we wanted, but turns out there was something even better. They didn't recommend anything; it was a 5%-tip service, but, of course, they got their customary 20%.I'm giving it 3 stars for atmosphere and actually the atmosphere was quite pleasant, but to get into that atmosphere you first had to get into the place... which was trying. Umigawa Sushi has a door fit for a castle or a cathedral or perhaps it was to suggest a temple. The door is huge and is almost impossible to open because it's so heavy. Was it on purpose, so that only the fittest can get in?

We had lunch here today and it was amazing! My best friend was here from NY and she was thoroughly impressed with the service, quality, beauty and most of all freshness of our food and dining experience today. We all loved our entrees and the Spicy Tuna with Crispy Rice was a runner up to Nobu's ❤️??

An unexpected gem! I had been wanting to try Umigawa since walking by one day, and I am glad we did. We started with the shishito peppers which had a higher than average rate of spicy ones (my favorite!). The miso soup was perfect to warm us up on a cold day. The spicy tuna with crispy rice is not to be missed -- crispy, gooey, spicy. We went for the omakase and found it to exceed our expectations. The fish was high quality and delicious, and each piece was thoughtfully created. For the price and quality, I think their omakase is a great deal. It was fun to see all the pieces lined up and go through them one by one together. For dessert, they gave us uni from Hokkaido and it was great of course. Will definitely be back when craving nigiri -- I think the word will get out about this place.

The vibe is quite pleasant; very clean lines & simple yielding a subtle ambience.I took a peek at the menu prior just looking for a vegan snack before heading home. The host handing it over and then I went and grabbed a seat on the wall bench table. "Something unique and snacking," I thought. Dengaku tofu and a side of rice. The tofu flavor is new to me thus made me curious (sweet miso?) and the rice is a good backup to pair with anything. It was nice, more so for trying a new-to-me dish that I finished. The staff were cordial and helpful. I'd come back if the interest pops up again.

Visited a few months ago, my God the sushi is NOT using sushi rice, no vinegar what so ever. The fish itself is decent. What kind of chef will cut cost by using inferior rice

The food tastes just fine but size is really small. There is only one waitress there for the whole restaurant, so service is Very slow. I don’t recommend this restaurant unless you want some bad experience.
