Some people say their service is rude. I don't think this is true. They're just German af so they speak very aggressively. My husband and I always panic when it's our turn because we don't want to hold them up but we don't know what we're doing. They always help us out and we always get great food. The ladies on the bakery/pastry side have always been lovely and amazing. Good food at both the bakery and deli.
This place has no ambiance . It used to be fun to go there and meet friends . Not no more . The food is expensive and there is no waitress. You order and they bring it to your table . The rest of the time you are on your own .,

Please Note: the 5-star rating takes into consideration that this is an old-fashioned, German style coffee shop. It is a different kind of experience than most of us are used to.It is NOT a modern-American-style business model. They make a certain amount of soup or pastries, and when they are out, they are out for the day rest of the day. And the fact that they run out by 1:30 pm sometimes - tells you that it must be good!! Come back tomorrow, a little earlier. They make their sandwiches a certain way, with a few, very simple ingredients, and few modifications can be made. So don’t expect them to do everything “your way”.Think of a family that has invited you in, to share a meal in their home, at their table. It is a host-and -guest kind of relationship, not a business -and -consumer type of relationship. So, sit back and relax. Slow down, and enjoy a simple cup of coffee, and a simpler way of life.I love this place!!

Ordered several pieces of sliced cakes with different flavors, all containing white cakes and whipped cream frosting. Each slice of cake was $5.50 per slice or more. The white cakes were dry, not moist at all. Granted each slice of cake was covered with flavor whipped cream, but the flavors were not there at all. Spend $23 for 4 slices of cake, I expected better cake!

I’ve been coming here for most of my life. Love to eat cake and speak German. It’s a time capsule.
I am not even a sweets person normally, but this place is a destination for my family. The desserts and pastries are amazing. My personal favorite is the Bee Sting Cake. Must try! My kids love to pick out treats and try new things here. The soups are phenomenal and another reason to stop in frequently.

Was craving cake for a good minute, German cakes hit different. Bee sting was good. Sliver almond on top glazed with honey gave it a good crust. Cream filling in between. The forest cake had a biscuit bottom crust did not expect it. If you don't know just ask the staff for recommendations. Will be going there weekly if work allows it.

Wonderful soup and sandwich lunch. We try to visit at least every 2 months or so. Beautiful decor, interesting yummy cake display.

Real authentic German pastries, accompanied by a German market next door with a butcher section for meats, not ordinarily found except for Germany. Everything is in German though but never fear the people who work there are very helpful.
