I have been coming to this bakery for 40 years, ever since my Oma—who was from Offenbach, Germany—first introduced me to it as a place of comfort and familiarity. Today, however, may have been my last visit.

We visited the Cafe today. The current Manager has a history of being rude to customers, as it was demonstrated again today by her. We have been costumers at this Establishment for 41 years with Wolfgang, the former owner, and current owner Dominique, who worked under Wolfgang.

My absolute favorite bakery! Dorothy and all the staff are so lovely, patient, and helpful. The pastries are always buttery soft and the cakes are positively decadent. 10/10 everytime.

German Pastry & Coffee Shop offers a unique, old-fashioned German-style experience. The service may seem aggressive, but it's simply a cultural difference. The bakery and deli serve great food, and the pastry ladies are lovely and amazing. The shop features a selection of sweets like Bienenstich and Streuselkuchen, which are sweet and flavorful, and the coffee is served in a thermal carafe, providing about two cups of very good coffee. On Friday and Saturday mornings, around 11 AM, they bring out freshly made Eclairs, Cream puffs, and Cream horns, which are excellent. The chef, who is part German and part French, really knows what he's doing, and the place is known for authentic pastries and cakes. Be prepared for a limited selection of soup and pastries, which often sell out by 1:30 pm. Sandwiches are made with simple ingredients and few modifications can be made. The family-run business offers a host-and-guest atmosphere, where visitors can slow down and enjoy a simple cup of coffee and a slower way of life. The shop opens at 9 AM, slightly later than expected, and is closed on Sunday and Monday, which is traditional for bakeries. Overall, it is a quaint, old-school place that feels like stepping back in time, a rare and wonderful experience in today’s society.
