Cute little upscale eatery on Lopez Island. Had a reservation and was seated fairly quickly. Staff was super friendly, laid-back. Food is pretty decent, depending on what you order. My husband really enjoyed the burger, which had local beef. I had the halibut and fries. Halibut was good, but it was a little heavy on the breading and wasn't as crispy as I would've liked, but was OK. Dessert was the highlight. Get the cheesecake for two! Overall, we had a good time.
Together with a group of good friends, we celebrated a summer birthday on the patio. Our waiter was friendly and good humored, made excellent recommendations, and served us promptly. Our dishes were splendid! My favorite was the butternut squash ravioli - so buttery! Everything we ate was wonderful. Our experience felt richly rewarding. Three cheers for the Blue Heron Bistro!
The food is pretty okay. The water is terrible. It's obviously Lopez well water. The prices are pretty high for what you get. I do have to compliment the pairings. The sides, though sometimes unusual suit the meal very well. It is quite cramped, there's not much parking. But I definitely recommend Stopping off and trying a meal here. The French fries are insanely wonderful. I'm not a big fan of truffle oil, but they put a perfect amount on there to where it doesn't...
