Stopped in to check out the historical fort, stumbled upon the Cable House Canteen, they make absolutely delicious Burgers 🍔🤤 here. Based on the reviews, Cable House Canteen is a great little spot near the beach at Fort Worden. The food is excellent, with one of the best burgers in Port Townsend and the fish wich being the real deal. The fish and chips are very good with lightly breaded and perfectly cooked fish fillets, and the burgers are juicy and full of flavor. The fries are awesome, very hot and crispy. The service is awesome with a smile, and the staff greets with an eager-to-please authentic attitude. The restaurant features a cozy eating bar inside made of a big slab of wood decorated with sketches of ships, as well as a little patio and outdoor seating. They also offer kayak rentals. Many beach and tourist necessities are available inside, including greeting cards, a pale and shovel, cold non-alcoholic drinks, and a freezer filled with a variety of ice cream. It is a very affordable price and a 5+ experience.
