I had lunch at Mall of Africa Restaurant during my visit to Seattle. It’s a few minutes away from Seatle Tacoma airport. The restaurant specializes in African cuisine, and I must say the food was prepared very well and tasted authentic.

One thing to keep in mind is the waiting time. Although there were not many customers when we visited, our food took close to 40 minutes to arrive. Unfortunately, there was very little communication from the staff regarding the delay, so be prepared to wait without much explanation.

The restaurant itself is quite spacious and offers both dine-in and takeout options. One thing I appreciated was the generous portion sizes, which provide good value for money.

I ordered ugali with goat meat, served with a side of beans and vegetables. The meal was flavorful, well-cooked, and definitely worth the wait from a taste perspective.

Overall, if you’re looking for authentic African food in Seattle, Mall of Africa Restaurant is worth trying. Just plan for a longer wait and manage your expectations regarding customer service. The food quality and portion sizes are the highlights of the experience.

Very customer service and mixing up orders. Our food was served to other people who just arrived and ordered which messed up our day and schedule.

I got a chicken sandwitch it tastes off when I opened it it was moldy and also it had a strong smell

After doing some shopping, me and my sister came here for lunch. The place was nice and quiet, and really spacious. We loved the services, really enjoyed the food and the coffee is outstanding. We were not rushed or bothered

I went there seeing the website reviews and wanted to try African food. Unfortunately,
there was Extremely uncomfortable environment. I was with my mom, aunty and toddler. The moment we entered, there wer two other their native customers were literally staring at us like they have seen an alien. I seen nobdy to take order at the counter but from nack in the kitchen women were yelling and shouting. I rang the bell twice and a gentleman showed. I requested if any one can take the order and meanwhile another their native customer came to order. He took his order and i waited there for 15 minutes and left to my table back. My mom said lets leave, what kinna of a place is this and meanwhile another persona cane by saying we dont have checken burger but beef and I said please pack only one for my toddler and we decided not eat here and that took the person 20 minutes and around us all the customers got there orders and I was waiting. I went back to the counter and he is like it will take 20 more minutes.
In short extremely pathetic and almost no services and worst ever environment. I will never recommend.

Delicious abundant food (order fewer entrees than people), very friendly service, but rather loud space with not much ambience. Mostly Somali (similar to Ethiopian), great flavors.

Interesting place. The space seems to function as a gathering place as well as a restaurant for the local Somali community. Everyone was very nice. The food was excellent.

Although I am not a Somali
I am obsessed with their ugali
The exterior is understated
But the flavors cannot be overrated
The portions are hearty
The spices create a mouth party
And I’ll be back by golly
