Could have easily made this level of quality at home, 1/3 the speed, 1/4 the price, 2x tastier. As a Japanese this was a disappointing $30 (inc tip) spent on Niku (Beef) udon.

I’d give it a 3 star as beef as actually ok. Udon did not have the right “Koshi” - is meant to not be all soft. And broth - they use bonito based broth. Proper udon broth is kelp/konbu based. Bonito broth also wasn’t that good either.

It took 30+min for the dish...
Portion is quite small, contrary to what people in previous reviews say. Maybe the portions have been reduced recently. I was only half full after eating one order, and each order is expensive ($24 before tax/tip which means actually $30).

The udon is served in a huge bowl, but the bowl is only around 30% full.

The noodles have a great texture.

You place your order at the counter but of course the machine still asks you...
What a tasty moment! I got the agedashi tofu and kinchaku udon. The broth was flavorful but light and a little thick so it coated every bite. The handmade udon was great. The massive bowl and side dishes were also great!
