Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar Reviews
On April 17, 2025, we (my Swedish cousins and visiting niece) had some of the very best fish and chips ever under new ownership of experienced Seattle owner/fry cook Brian T.
Brian has moved into sourcing extremely fresh seafood from our local Western Washington tribes. Look for this great spot in the Pike Place Market courtyard, entrance hall just north of the so-called "original" Starbucks!
Our party of 3, including a 6yr old, arrived just as they opened. The new owner served us personally, told us the special oysters available and let us review. When the 6yr girl ordered the oysters, he didn't question it! He treated my granddaughter as a customer, asking if she wanted anything g to drink besides water. He made sure to look at us for confirmation but didn't treat her as a child.

Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar is a hidden gem in the Seattle market, celebrated for the freshest oysters and steamed mussels in garlic broth. This quaint restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating areas, including a charming outside spot and a lively bar area. It is a small place tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Pike Place, making it a low-key destination for diners. Guests can enjoy a variety of oysters, cold beverages, and a selection of beers and wines, making it a great spot for a delicious meal.
The menu may vary, so it is wise to check before visiting. The price of oysters recently increased to $3.50 each, but they remain fresh and delicious. One recent visitor praised the homemade clam chowder for being flavorful without being too salty or potatoey. Another enjoyed the fried oyster po boy plate, which featured fried panko crusted oysters with vinegary slaw and house-made French fries. The atmosphere is fun and divey, appealing to those looking for a casual dining experience.
The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, providing great service and recommendations for food and wine. Many diners find the flavor notes of the oysters to be spot on, making them a highlight of the menu. Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar continues to be a favorite for those seeking tasty oysters, great food at affordable prices, and a relaxed environment.
