Golden City is my go-to for American Style (I guess) Chinese food. Never been in the restaurant, always get a couple drinks and takeout from the bar. General Tso's + white rice is my default. Not overly sauced, breading is light but substantial, chicken is tender but well cooked. Excellent if that's what you're looking for. Bartenders are friendly, drinks are generous and priced well. Regulars are fine if a little inebriated.
I mean it is what it is... We have done take out, met friends, eaten with a large group in the dining room. We have enjoyed the food, the time with friends and the service. It's a colorful crowd, mostly harmless - I've never had a problem, but it does give off that vibe that you may have one. Bartender was great, attentive and friendly.

Solid Chinese American take out spots in the neighborhood. It's not my favorite general tso chicken because it was quite dry/overfried but the crab wonton, fried rice, and beef veg dishes made up for it. Very quick service and it tastes exactly like what you're expecting. Give it a try if you're having a hankering for some comforting Chinese American food.
