I mean it is what it is... We have done take out, met friends, eaten with a large group in the dining room. We have enjoyed the food, the time with friends and the service. It's a colorful crowd, mostly harmless - I've never had a problem, but it does give off that vibe that you may have one. Bartender was great, attentive and friendly.
For the bar area and not the restaurant: Truly a dive bar. Locals hangout. Quaint bar room area. Can order Chinese food from next door at the bar. Drinks are strong and cheap. Ping pong table top on top of a pool table with some rackets and balls on site. Also, 2 pool tables. Jukebox. Does have a lingering smell of being a smoking establishment.
Classic dive bar in ballard that STILL EXISTS! Even though I don't go often, the women who run the place always remember me. Not super fast service but then...that's not what we're here for...?
