Let me guess: you work at Amazon you and your tech bro coworkers need to find a place to eat. You never tried this place so you’re gonna give it a shot. Now I’m gonna tell you exactly what’s gonna happen. You guys are gonna look at the menu get excited about the different curries. Hey maybe this place isn’t too bad. Then when the food arrives, you’re gonna realize how mediocre it is. The chicken is dry. The pork is dry. The curry is too salty. The tofu salad is insultingly bad, wet raw flavorless tofu. This place is just like the tech workers inside: bland and soulless. 🫵😬

I used to love their Pork Katsu but the last time I ordered it, the meat has become so very thin that I can barely taste it on top of being bitter from being overly fried. Staff said it’s not burnt and it’s usually done that way. Although I usually order the same and I’m sure the quality was better before, I chose not to argue anymore as there are loads of other restaurants around to choose from and it’s easier to not just go back to this one.

Decent place to grab a quick curry Katsu meal in South Union. Quick and easy to order as they bring it to your table and you bus it when you’re done. The Katsu was tasteful yet underwhelming as it was thin as a piece of paper. The rice, the chicken ratio was off, so much rice compared to the chicken. The main highlight was the curry itself, which had a lot of flavor
.

The fact they have a 4.1 is criminal. Place was credibly relaxing to be in. Self service is nice and the lady working the front was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Food is amazing, especially considering the price in SLU. So some of y’all are lying about the food and gotta figure it out cause food was buss and the price is really good, especially their happy hour prices. I will be coming back next time I make the trip over to this area.

Everything was great, just my curry standards might be higher than others. The food came hot and fresh, fish and chicken just out of the frying oil.

The curry at this place is really good!

However, I am giving only 3 stars because of how poorly the tonkatsu was cut. The pieces are way too big and not bite sized like most Japanese food should be. To me,
this seems like a clear case of someone that couldn’t be bothered to put a bit of effort into making the food.

I work nearby and I love the food here very much. It's very delicious, but due to the poor service attitude, I won't come back anymore. An Indian woman threw my order to me, yes, it was thrown. I asked her a question but didn't reply. She stared at me coldly with her eyes. But the white people who came behind immediately switched to smiling faces and warmly welcomed me, skipping me directly. I won't come back again

When you're craving a quick Japanese curry with chicken katsu, this is the place to go. Very casual place - you order at the counter, they bring the food to you. Sake is served in small bottles. You have to bus your own tables at the end of the meal.

Good is fine; price is a little steep but it is what it is in the area. They also offer spaghetti in addition to white and brown rice, which is very interesting.

I’m sorry to leave bad review, but the sandwich I received had no flavor or taste. 😰 I ordered pork tonkotsu sandwich with salad through LunchDrop. First bite was very sad, there was hardly any seasoning or flavor. The slaw and pickled ginger was not enough to salvage the dish, nor did it go well together. Portion size is good at least, two pork cutlets in the sandwich, but overall not pleasant for me.
