Im from North Carolina and have strong opinions on barbecue. Was in town for a wedding, tired from traveling, just walked into any old place not expecting much, just a meal. Totally blown away! We came in right as they were about to close and the guy running things was so friendly and gave us extra sides since he was closing out. I stumbled upon Jones Barbeque during a walk around Seattle's SODO neighborhood, if I can recall, somewhere around 2010 (give or take a year) when I saw the pit and smelled the meats they were preparing for on one weekday. When I discovered the establishment, I had to take a pass because of other obligations that needed my attention; but, as a barbeque fan, I did not forget.
