Kozue is a charming authentic sushi restaurant known for its lovely sushi and fresh fish. The owner is friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere different from other places. The menu offers a variety of Japanese food, including some hidden gems like agedashi tofu, which is simple but well-made, and the blackcod cheek, which is astonishingly good—almost like half of a fancy fish entree. The vegetable or shrimp tempura is solid and high-quality. Many customers enjoy the appetizers so much that they often order 2-3 instead of an entree. There is also an interesting mountain yam slime option worth trying. The sukiyaki is a favorite, served in a huge bowl with leftovers that are delicious. The sushi is reliable and good, with prices comparable to Seattle. The enclosed outdoor area is cozy with heaters, making it great for summer visits, though a distracting light might be noticeable. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible with no steps. Overall, Kozue is a solid choice for Japanese food with some special dishes to discover.
