This is a wonderful friendly neighborhood restaurant with very good food. Nick is an exceptional host, welcoming people and making certain everyone is happy. He is so accommodating with food allergies and he makes you feel so welcome. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Nick is super nice. The French dip was excellent. Chicken sandy was good but not great. Could've used some sauce, but the slaw was good. Fries are excellent.
Second to none, especially around Montlake/Arboretum Area

The food is delicious but such a different experience between lunch and dinner. Menus are different and we were excited to try the dinner menu. We were seated at our reservation time of 7:00 p.m. on a Thursday. It was so loud we couldn't carry on a conversation, other clients were drinking and there to be seen and heard. We ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees. The table next to us was seated after we ordered yet they received food prior to us. Our appetizer never showed so we ate our entrees while they then prepared our compensated appetizer. The atmosphere killed it for us. If we decide to go back for dinner we would definitely insist on sitting in a small back area.
As usual it was a great experience from the moment my friend & I walked in the door. We were warmly greeted by the waitress who sat us & shortly thereafter by the owner himself, Nick. The waitress was very friendly & knowledgeable, she was attentive without hovering, then Nick would also greet every table in the restaurant himself, top notch customer service by the entire staff the whole time to go along with an incredible meal
Nick's on Madison is always a fun place to get a very good dinner at a reasonable price. The cocktails are well made and wine is reasonable priced. Nick is always at the restaurant and knows so many of the diners. A good date night or family dinner place.
The lunch menu was delicious and we look forward to going back to order from the dinner menu soon. Excellent service by the owner, Nick. A clean, bright and cheery restaurant, a full bar.
Customers are respectful of others and music is played low in the background
My favorite kind of dining!

Nick's my go spot where the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Love the staples like their burger but also the rotating seasonal menu. Great cocktail and wine options but my fave is their espresso martini with the local cold brew. Not too sweet!

Nick's is a wonderful neighborhood joint with an unpretentious menu that offers a range of staples (a burger, a fish, a steak, a vegetable option) but with seasonal tweaks that make it fresh and delicious. Full bar and nice wines. It's a great spot!
Another great dinner. The friendly staff, great food, and fast service are always a delight. And the cocktails are perfect!

The ambiance and vibe was very chill. We were catching up and our server was very happy to give us time and space to talk and order at our leisure. This place really felt like a hidden gem and we will definitely come back. The food was great and the French dip was a standout.
Rude staff. Bad atmosphere. I went on Friday at 4:20 with my husband, mother in law, and 18 month old and it was completely dead. Not another person seated. Immediately upon walking in the server had an unwelcoming aura. (Our 18 month old was in a great mood, and there were no signs saying no persons under 18.) When my husband asked for a high chair the server raised her eye brows and said sure. She brought it to our table and my mother in law asked if it could be placed across from the seat beside her and the server said “I’ll let you figure it out” and dropped the highchair. I went around and got it, placed it where we wanted it and put my daughter in. We felt incredibly unwelcome and decided to leave. As we took our daughter out of the high chair she started to cry, and as we were walking out I heard the bartender laugh loudly and say to another person “I’m glad I won’t have to listen to that for three hours.” It was really rude. She was only crying because she was taken out of the chair and was well behaved when we arrived. It’s not family friendly. It’s not any kind of friendly. We went to cactus instead, just up the street, it was wonderful and would highly recommend.

Great food, great service and ambience. Wonderful way to spend a night at your neighborhood eatery.
As always, our dining experience at Nick's last night was superb. First of all, Nick makes a perfect Martini and Manhattan ! He has a great chef who fresh halibut preparation is unique and one of the best we've ever encountered. Both Nick and his staff are the epitome of graciousness and warmth. Both my partner and I are disabled and Nick actually walked us to the elevator and then accompanied us to the underground parking to. make sure we arrived at our car safely.!! Such an incredible culinary gem in our little village of Madison Park.
